SOUR CANDY (ANAAR DAANA)

Directed By Nishi Dugar

India | Narrative | 20 min

U.S. Premiere

Guddal, a free-spirited 5-year-old, lives in her ancestral home with her younger brother, Laddoo, and older sister, Chinu. A nanny, Aaya Didi, cares for them in the absence of their parents. Guddal orchestrates mischievous antics with Laddoo, landing them in trouble and punishment. The news of her ailing grandmother and the influx of relatives in her otherwise idyllic house leave her bewildered. Through a coming-of-age narrative, ANAAR DAANA explores the essence of childhood.
