Forced into piano lessons by his mother despite recent hearing loss, Chinese teenager Aiden Wang finds himself caught between his parents’ conflicting desires. His father’s efforts to protect him miss Aiden’s true wishes. The night before a pivotal exam, a family dispute drives Aiden from home. He ultimately decides to attend the exam, finding an unexpected connection with an ASL-speaking interviewer.

Andrew is an NYC/Bay Area-based filmmaker currently studying at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He's worked on films such as PROJECT: KLB2, which screened at festivals such as Cinequest and won Best Narrative Short at the Harlem International Film Festival (Youth). He focuses on telling striking, empathetic stories which challenge traditional views on societal norms.
