Asian American International Film Festival — Aug 1st - Aug 11th, 2024

Nurse Unseen [In-Person]

[After the screening, there will be a live in-person Q&A with the filmmakers.]

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the Filipino-American community particularly hard. While NURSE UNSEEN is an acknowledgment of the community’s grief as a result of the pandemic, at its core, the film is about the love at the center of such grief, and all the ways the Filipino-American nursing community embodies love and care despite immeasurable odds.

We begin to unearth the colonial ties between the Philippines and the U.S. that have led to the Philippines becoming the leading exporter of professional nurses to not only the U.S. but the entire world.
