Jamojaya: Opening Night Screening & Reception

Asian CineVision’s 46th Annual Asian American Film Festival (AAIFF) will open with the East Coast premiere of Justin Chon’s narrative feature film, JAMOJAYA, on Wednesday, July 26 at the Museum of the Moving Image (36-01 35 Ave, Astoria, NY 11106).

JAMOJAYA explores what happens when James (Rich Brian), an up-and-coming rapper at the crossroads of his career, decides to let go of his manager, who is also his father (Yayu A.W. Unru). This decision forces them to confront the past and figure out what they want from one another.

The screening of JAMOJAYA runs 93 minutes and will take place at the MoMI Redstone Theater. Immediately following will be a filmmaker Q&A and live in-person musical performance by Jimmy Lym (@yeahthisjimmy on Instagram).

Finally, there will be a reception following at the MoMI Reception Lobby, with light bites provided by local NYC vendors Warung Selasa, Jakarta Munch, Djamu, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia.
