MONSOON is a poignant reflection on the struggle for identity in a place where the past weighs heavily on the present. When Kit returns to Vietnam for the first time in 30 years, he feels estranged from his birth country, which his family fled after the War. Searching for a place to scatter his parents’ ashes, Kit journeys from Saigon to Hanoi. Along the way, he reconnects with his cousin Lee and falls for Lewis, the son of an American veteran. And he finally starts to connect to the memories of his parents and his own roots.
