Having lived through racism and prejudice in her youth, a Japanese Canadian elder reconnects with her heritage through Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement.

  • Alejandro Yoshizawa is a filmmaker and Assistant Professor at the University of the Fraser Valley. Specializing in documentaries, community stories, oral history, and digital media, his films include the award winning documentary All Our Father's Relations (2016). Since 2014, he has also taught courses in Film Production, Asian Canadian, and Asian Migration studies at the University of British Columbia.
