As a child, Monica Chowdry is a celebrated winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. But 15 years later, life hasn’t quite panned out. She still lives at home in the suburbs, cares for her ailing mother, and has an odd penchant for “seeing” words to define strangers. When Monica’s brother returns home, tensions arise and secrets are revealed. Can the siblings set aside their differences to help their mother prepare for the anniversary of their father’s death? Or will years of bottled-up emotions tear this family apart?
