DEATH OF NINTENDO tells of Paolo, a sheltered boy stifled by his overprotective mother, and Mimaw, a tomboy who gets her heart broken for the first time. Blackouts leading up to Mt. Pinatubo’s historic volcanic eruption have prevented kids across the Philippines from playing video games. Bored, Paolo and his friends decide circumcision is the answer to their problems, but get sidetracked when Paolo falls for “it girl” Shiara. Dragging Mimaw along, he takes Shiara on an elaborate ghost-hunting trip, but all goes wrong and the friends realize not everything is fun and games.
