BIDYOKE is a rousing portrait of a beloved Filipino karaoke-restaurant in National City, California, that has since closed its doors. We join a spirited assortment of patrons and DJs in this electric immigrant space, reminiscing through classic ballads deep into the night.

  • Joseph Mangat
  • Joseph Mangat is a Filipino filmmaker based in Brooklyn and Manila. Mentored by avant-garde filmmaker Jean-Pierre Gorin, Joseph is a Uniondocs / Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellow. In 2019, he was one of fifteen emerging filmmakers selected to Berlinale Talents - Tokyo. That same year, he participated in Full Circle Lab's filmmaker workshop in Manila. In 2020, he won the Doc-in-Progress award at March√© du Film - Cannes. He is currently completing his first documentary feature Holy Craft.
