Ling needs a kidney. She leaves Malaysia and crosses the 1056-meter long causeway at the border to Singapore to see her younger brother, who now lives there, to seek this desperate favor. His Singaporean wife is newly pregnant and with a mediocre job as a car mechanic, a high standard of living in Singapore, and considerations that come with raising a new family, will her last hope eventually save her?

  • Edwin Ho
  • Edwin Ho is a Singaporean director now based in New York. He is a recent graduate of the MFA in Film Directing Program from Columbia University. He studied Communications, majoring in Advertising and Film in Singapore. Prior to the United States, he also lived and worked in Sweden and Spain. Besides traditional filmmaking, he also creates VR content at a New York-based studio. For him, making a film is to create an emotional journey relived through visual storytelling.
