CITIZEN KIM. No, not CITIZEN KANE, the legendary Orson Welles film that boasts to be the best US film of all time, but the play about a Korean struggling to get a green card to remain in the US and continue his American Dream which AAIFF had chosen for this year's Screenplay Reading.

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who came out and organized last night and celebrated the AAIFF08 in true festival fashion. Lots of love and lots of good times.

The festival is back, and I am getting half of my daily recommended hours of sleep. Not because of thing called work, but from way too many reasons to stay out til the wee hours. If you missed the opener, there were some moments that will be hard to replicate, such as Sonjia wearing a dress for almost 3 hours (she's working on her Lady Lessons), endless Michelob Ultra (because I work for this body), and free chauffeured Matrix rides. Have to say that was pretty sweet.

We're off and running as we countdown the hours to Opening. Like long-distance runners coming 'round the bend, reaching the home stretch means the adrenaline has only begun to kick in—it'll be a sprint to the finish line. Or maybe it's more like cycling, and everyday brings a new round in the same race. We can also think of the ups and downs of Tiger's dramatic play at this year's U.S. Open...
